Metro Seeks Public Input on Increased Service to Shady Grove by May 21

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, May 2, 2018

A County priority for many years has been the elimination of turn backs on Metro’s Red Line -- meaning only half the trains at Grosvenor-Strathmore continue on to Shady Grove. Metro invites the public to provide feedback on eliminating the turnbacks, reducing them to one-quarter of the trains or leaving service as is. In 2015, the Washington Area Metropolitan Transit Authority (WMATA) Board committed to extending more continuous Red Line service to Shady Grove beginning July 2018.

Customer feedback is needed. Metro invites the public to provide feedback on Comment on the three options -- eliminating the turnbacks, reducing them to one-quarter of the trains or leaving service as is -- by 5 pm on Monday, May 21 by completing an online survey.
