Commission for Women Announces Winners of Girl Power Contest

For Immediate Release: Thursday, May 10, 2018

The Montgomery County Commission for Women (CfW) proudly announces the winners of its second annual Girl Power Contest, “Madam President: Who will be the first female President of the United States?”

Commissioners enjoyed looking over entries from students and adults County-wide. Winners of each category were judged based on creativity and content. Congratulations to the following entrants:

Elementary School

  • First Place: Ishita Singh, Cedar Grove Elementary School
  • Honorable Mention: Jemmie Pollack, Bells Mill Elementary School

Middle School

  • First Place: Daviana Marcus, Silver Creek Middle School
  • Honorable Mention: Obse Abebe, Silver Creek Middle School

High School

  • First Place: Keira DiGaetano, Richard Montgomery High School
  • Honorable Mention: Lancie Faith Kear, Paint Branch High School

Adult

  • First Place: Ruth M. Hunt, Clarksburg, MD
  • Honorable Mentions: Katie Oakes, Clarksburg, MD


Contest winners will be featured on the CfW website and will receive a swag bag, a photo with Commissioners, and an invitation to be a guest of honor at a CFW event of the winner’s choice.
