Upcoming elections, need for Latino volunteers are focus of “En Sintonía con el Concejo del Condado,” today at 2:30 p.m.

ROCKVILLE, Md., June 1, 2018—Gilberto Zelaya, outreach and early voting coordinator for the Montgomery County Board of Elections, and Julio Fuentes, volunteer with the Board of Elections, are the featured guests on today’s episode of “En Sintonia con el Concejo del Condado” (In Tune with the Montgomery County Council), airing at 2:30 p.m. on Radio America (WACA 1540AM). They will discuss the importance of participating in the voting process in the upcoming primary elections and the need for Latino volunteers. Early voting begins June 14 and regular voting is on June 26. The voter registration period ends Tuesday, June 5.

The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station. Lilian Mass is the show’s host.

Each week, the show features guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
