Family reunification, summer school are focus of “En Sintonía con el Concejo del Condado,” today at 2:30 p.m.

ROCKVILLE, Md., June 8, 2018—Luis Rolando Aguirre and Iris Peters coordinators at the Latino Health Initiative (LHI); Melisa Rivera, spokesperson for Montgomery County Public Schools and Ana Mercedes Gudiel, coordinator of summer programs at Title I schools, are the featured guests on today’s episode of “En Sintonia con el Concejo del Condado” (In Tune with the Montgomery County Council), airing at 2:30 p.m. on Radio America (WACA 1540AM). Luis Rolando Aguirre and Iris Peters will discuss the reunification of immigrant families in Montgomery County, the significance and challenges of being reunified, and the programs and services offered by LHI for such families. Melisa Rivera and Ana Mercedes Gudiel will discuss summer programs offered to children in Title I schools.

The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station. Lilian Mass is the show’s host.

Each week, the show features guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
