Notable features include: easier page navigation, Council and committee calendar updates, convenient sign up for public hearings and legislative tracking subscription feature

ROCKVILLE, Md., August 1, 2018—The Montgomery County Council’s website has been updated in an effort to streamline and refresh the home page to make it easier for residents to view and find information.

Some of the updated features include:

  • easier access to Council and committee agendas and the public hearing sign up page;
  • a legislative subscription feature, which allows residents to follow bills as they move from introduction to county law;
  • the addition of an upcoming events calendar;
  • “What do we do?” has been moved up to bring more attention to the work of the Council; and
  • featured news is presented in a more image centric layout to focus on key issues.

To receive legislative updates, the Council’s website has a subscription feature that provides individuals with email notifications as a bill moves through the legislative process from the time of introduction until it becomes law. Sign up to receive notifications about Council legislation by visiting https://apps.montgomerycountymd.gov/ccllims/bill_List.aspx and selecting the bill you would like to follow.

At the bottom of the bill summary box (shaded in blue), provide your email in the subscribe to notifications box and hit subscribe.
