County’s Department of Health and Human Services Earns National Recognition with Eight Awards

            The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) received eight 2018 Achievement Awards for outstanding programs from the National Association of Counties (NACo).  The awards recognize local jurisdictions who promote responsible, responsive and effective county government.

            “It is an honor to receive this recognition from a national organization,” said Uma S. Ahluwalia, director of DHHS. “We offer a diverse set of services and the winning programs reflect the innovative thinking and dedication of our workforce.”

            DHHS received awards for the following programs:

• Asian American Youth Mental Health Initiative
• Child Welfare Substance Abuse Interventionist
• Enterprise Integrated Case Management (eICM) System
• Inside Not Outside Initiative
• Interactive Self-Sufficiency Stand
• Life Long Homes – Leveraging Community Resources
• Mobile Integrated Health (in partnership with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services)
• The REAL Program (in partnership with Jewish Council for the Aging’s Heyman Interages Center and Montgomery County Public Libraries)
