Press Releases

Wheaton Arts Parade & Festival registration deadline is Friday, September 7

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, September 5, 2018

The second annual Wheaton Arts Parade & Festival that highlights the talents and imagination of artists of all types is accepting applications from those wanting to participate through Friday, September 7. The free community event, to be held Sunday, September 23, features marching entries in the parade, performers on Downtown Wheaton stages and exhibitors. A limited number of artist tents are still available and the parade is open to all. Information on how to register is available at Wheaton Arts Parade registration website.

The Wheaton Arts Parade & Festival is a celebration of artists and residents of all ages and cultures, especially those in Wheaton and Montgomery County. There will be floats—but no cars. Last year’s imaginative parade exhibitions included entries that were pushed, pulled, carried and worn.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. on September 23. The festival entertainment and exhibits at Wheaton Veterans Urban Park will be open until 5 p.m.

The event is supported in part by funding from the Montgomery County government and the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County, Westfield Wheaton Mall and numerous local businesses and community organizations.
