Press Releases

For Immediate Release: Friday, October 12, 2018

The Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center (MCASAC) has teamed up with Friends of Montgomery County Animals to host an "Autumn Adoption Fest," a fee-waived adoption event including all species of animals, from Monday, October 15 through Thursday, October 25 (excluding Wednesdays). MCASAC will offer no-cost adoptions to encourage the public to adopt homeless pets and make room at the shelter for new arrivals needing placement.

“This event is going to be especially exciting because we’re temporarily changing how we do adoptions in order to decrease wait time for patrons and maximize the number of animals we can send home each day,” said MCASAC Deputy Director Lex Lepiarz. “MCASAC strongly encourages interested adopters to review its website for information about the event, including hours and applicable adoption requirements, prior to arriving at the adoption center during the promotion period.”

Dedicated staff and volunteers pour their hearts into running adoption promotions with the hope that the community will respond in great numbers. After a summer of high animal intakes, largely the result of multiple hoarding cases investigated by the Montgomery County Police Animal Services Division, the MCASAC has a wide variety of pets ready to go to a new home.
