MCDOT to Hold Public Workshop on US 29 Mobility and Reliability Study

MCDOT invites the public to attend a workshop to hear more about the US 29 Mobility and Reliability Study. The study area includes US 29 from Burtonsville to Silver Spring. The meeting is planned for:

Thursday November 29, 6 to 8 p.m.

White Oak Recreation Center Social Hall

1700 April Lane, White Oak

 

A formal presentation will be held at 6:30 p.m. followed by an opportunity to view displays that further explain the project.

 

The US 29 Mobility and Reliability Study is reviewing and updating previous studies conducted in the corridor and analyzing safety, accessibility, mobility and travel time reliability for transit users, cyclists, pedestrians and carpools. Concepts introduced at the workshop will be further assessed by staff for opportunities and constraints; travel time and safety benefits; conceptual design and cost estimates.

 

There is currently no funding identified for design or construction of any new or previously identified improvements to the corridor. The US 29 FLASH BRT project is proceeding separately from this study effort.
