ROCKVILLE, Md., Jan. 31, 2019—Luis Estrada, planner coordinator for the Montgomery Planning Department, will be the featured guest on the Friday, Feb. 1 episode of En Sintonía con el Concejo del Condado de Montgomery (Tuned in with the Montgomery County Council), which airs in its new 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. timeslot on Radio America (900AM). Mr. Estrada will discuss the Veirs Mill Corridor Master Plan. The plan focuses on neighborhood access to the anticipated bus rapid transit (BRT) stations, compatibility with adjoining land uses, potential redevelopment opportunities and improved connectivity.
The plan extends approximately four miles, from the City of Rockville to the Wheaton Central Business District and Vicinity Sector Plan boundary. More information on the plan can be found here. A public hearing open to all residents will be held at the Holiday Park Senior Center at 3950 Ferrara Drive in Wheaton at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 7. Residents can sign up to testify here.
The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station. Lilian Mass is the show’s host.
Each week, the show features guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
