ROCKVILLE, Md., Feb. 8, 2019—Recently-elected Councilmember Evan Glass will be the featured guest on today’s episode of En Sintonía con el Concejo del Condado de Montgomery (Tuned in with the Montgomery County Council), which airs in its new 2 p.m. timeslot on Radio America (WILC 900AM). Councilmember Glass will share his major policy goals during his first term on the Council.
As an at-large member of the Council, Councilmember Glass represents all of Montgomery County’s 1.1 million residents. He serves on the Transportation and Environment Committee and on the Health and Human Services Committee as the lead for homelessness and vulnerable communities. He was a journalist with CNN for 12 years prior to his election to the Council. Evan most recently served as the executive director of Gandhi Brigade, a non-profit geared towards empowering youth through the use of media.
In the second segment of the program, Melissa Rivera, public information officer for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), Oliver Fajardo, project manager of Thomas Edison High School; and Glenda Vasquez Ramos, a student in the hospitality and tourism program, will join to discuss the MCPS technical careers program.
The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station. Lilian Mass is the show’s host.
Each week, the show features guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
