For Immediate Release: Friday, February 15, 2019

ROCKVILLE, Md., Feb. 14, 2019—Natalia Carrizosa, legislative analyst for Montgomery County’s Office of Legislative Oversight; Valeria Del Castillo, economic equity network builder for Impact; and Carmen Hernandez, senior network builder for Impact, will be the featured guests on today’s episode of En Sintonía con el Concejo del Condado de Montgomery (Tuned in with the Montgomery County Council), which airs this Friday, Feb. 15 in its new 2 p.m. timeslot on Radio America (WILC 900AM). The guests will discuss the two-generation approach to poverty, which was the subject of a recent OLO report. The report highlights strategies for overcoming intergenerational poverty in Montgomery County families, including low-income immigrant families. Council President Nancy Navarro requested this report as part of OLO’s annual workplan.

The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station. Lilian Mass is the show’s host.

Each week, the show features guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.

Video links with a summary of the show are available each week at the County Council's mobile friendly web site at: www.montgomerycountymd.gov/council.
