Councilmember Andrew Friedson to Host Facebook Live Chat on March 6 at Noon

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, February 27, 2019

Friedson proactively engaging the community to
address pressing issues and provide world-class constituent service

ROCKVILLE, Md., Feb. 27, 2019—District 1 County Councilmember Andrew Friedson will host an informative and engaging online chat on Facebook Live starting at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6 to hear directly from constituents about the issues important to them and answer questions about topics before the Montgomery County Council.

The inaugural “Friedson Live” will allow residents to engage with the Councilmember via Facebook from the comfort of their homes, offices, or wherever they have internet access. Participants can log on to Facebook, search for the official Councilmember Andrew Friedson Page (@CouncilmemberAndrewFriedson), and access the Facebook Live video posted on the Page’s timeline.

Participants can post questions, comments or observations and watch as Councilmember Friedson responds in real-time.

“We recognize that not everyone can make an evening public event or schedule a time to come to Rockville to meet face-to-face, so we’re hosting these ‘Friedson Live’ online chats to give our constituents another way to engage and for us to address pressing community issues,” said Councilmember Friedson. “‘Friedson Live’ is one of the many ways we are bringing the Council to the community in an attempt to reach those who otherwise would be less likely to participate in local government.”

Councilmember Friedson will also be hosting and participating in additional community outreach events in March and April as part of his goal to provide world-class constituent service to the residents and business owners of District 1, which encompasses Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac, Kensington, Poolesville, North Bethesda and other areas on the western side of Montgomery County.

Councilmember Friedson will hold his inaugural “Fridays with Friedson” event from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 22 at Tally Ho Restaurant (9923 Falls Road, Potomac, MD 20854). Friedson will head to coffee shops and restaurants around District 1 on Friday mornings to grab a cup of coffee or tea and speak to constituents in an informal setting. All are welcome. No RSVPs are required.

Following up on his successful first “Community Conversation” with more than 120 attendees at Burning Tree Elementary School in Bethesda, Friedson will host a second “Community Conversation” from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 4 at the Kensington Town Hall (3710 Mitchell Street, Kensington, MD 20895.) This town-hall style event will give attendees a chance to ask about issues specific to their neighborhoods, topics of interest with countywide impact, and everything in between and will be hosted at locations throughout District 1 in 2019.

Councilmember Friedson has attended almost two dozen District 1 civic, neighborhood, and resident group meetings since taking office in December and is committed to being as proactive and communicative as possible in order to best represent his constituents.
