ROCKVILLE, Md., March 7, 2019—Council President Nancy Navarro will be the featured guest on this episode of En Sintonía con el Concejo del Condado de Montgomery (Tuned in with the Montgomery County Council), airing tomorrow, Friday, March 8 at 2 p.m. timeslot on Radio America (WILC 900AM). Council President Navarro will discuss the upcoming community conversation on racial equity and social justice, which she is hosting with County Executive Marc Elrich next Wednesday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Silver Spring Civic Building (1 Veterans Plaza in Silver Spring). She also will speak about her goal of hearing from a broad segment of the Montgomery County community on equity issues, as she spearheads an outreach campaign that will eventually lead to legislation creating an official Racial Equity and Social Justice Policy at the end of this year.
Council President Navarro also will discuss her vision for a comprehensive system of high quality accessible and affordable early childhood education, which she shared in a press conference this week with County Executive Marc Elrich.
The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station. Lilian Mass is the show’s host.
Each week, the show features guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
