ROCKVILLE, Md., March 21, 2019—Councilmembers Andrew Friedson (District 1) and Craig Rice (District 2) will be the featured guests on this week’s episode of En Sintonía con el Concejo del Condado de Montgomery (Tuned in with the Montgomery County Council), airing tomorrow, Friday, March 22 at 2 p.m. on Radio America (WILC 900AM).
Councilmember Friedson, who began his first term on the Council this year, will talk about his background and share some of his major policy goals. He is the Lead for Parks on the Planning, Housing and Economic Development Committee and serves on the Government Operations and Fiscal Policy Committee. He represents District 1, which includes the communities of Bethesda, Cabin John, Chevy Chase, Friendship Heights, Garrett Park, Glen Echo, Kensington, North Bethesda, Potomac, Poolesville and Somerset.
Councilmember Rice will join the program to discuss carbon monoxide awareness. Last year he was the lead sponsor of a bill that made carbon monoxide detectors mandatory in single-unit, two-unit and townhouse dwelling units. He will be joined by firefighter Johanna Fuentes of Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services. Councilmember Rice is chair of the Education and Culture Committee and a member of the Health and Human Services Committee. He represents District 2, which includes Barnesville, Boyds, Comus, Damascus, Hyattstown, Germantown, Clarksburg, Montgomery Village, Goshen and parts of Darnestown and North Potomac.
The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station. Lilian Mass is the show’s host.
Each week, the show features guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
