Three community education bike rides to explore the region will be held this month in cooperation with the Washington Area Bicyclists Association (WABA) on May 8 in Bethesda, May 11 in Rockville and June 15 in Silver Spring. Join riders of all levels to explore areas in Montgomery County and learn the techniques urban riders use to get around the region. It’s a fun opportunity to ask questions, practice riding in the city and meet other bikers! Registration is free for Capital Bikeshare members and $10 for all others.
Wednesday, May 8 - Bethesda Community Ride to Silver:
Bethesda is a great city to explore by bicycle! Starting at 6:30pm at Bethesda Metro Station located at 7450 Wisconsin Ave, Bethesda. Come ride with WABA while we showcase the trails, streets, and bike lanes in the area. The exploration ends with a complimentary Margarita and happy hour specials, courtesy of SILVER, a new American Brasserie. Saturday, May 11 - Better Bicycling Ride in Rockville:
Starting at 10:30 a.m. at Panera Bread Falls Grove Shopping Center located at 14921 Shady Grove Road, Rockville. Start your weekend with a fun social ride to get a taste of better bicycling in the area, then get some tasty food afterward. Explore the fun roads and neighborhoods of the area. This community education ride is an inclusive space for riders of all levels to explore the area. Register online.
Saturday, June 15 - Better Bicycling Ride in Silver Spring:
Explore the bicycle lanes in Downtown Silver Spring and ride on the Sligo Creek Trail starting at Whole Foods, 833 Wayne Avenue, Silver Spring at 10:30 a.m. Sign up online.
