County Department of Health and Human Services Receives Five Awards from the National Association of Counties

For Immediate Release: Thursday, June 6, 2019

The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) received five 2019 Achievement Awards for outstanding programs from the National Association of Counties (NACo).  The awards recognize local jurisdictions who promote responsible, responsive and effective county government.

The Latino Health Initiative won “best in category” for its Family Reunification Program.  The program delivers culturally, and linguistically competent workshops tailored for parents/caregivers and adolescent children that focus on the development of skills to rebuild family relationships, enhancing communication and starting a process of emotional healing to effectively overcome the challenges faced in the process of reunification.
