SoberRide Offers Free Rides on Independence Day, Thursday, July 4

For Immediate Release: Monday, July 1, 2019

If your Fourth of July celebration plans involve drinking out in the community, the Washington Region Alcohol Program’s 2019 SoberRide® program may be an answer to your safe return home. In partnership with Lyft, SoberRide will be offered from 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 4, until 2:00 a.m. Friday, July 5th. The first 1,500 passengers who enter a promo code that will be posted on July 4 at 6:00 p.m. will receive free rides up to $15. Users must be 21 or older and are responsible for any costs above $15. The service is valid in Lyft’s Washington, D.C. coverage area.

MCDOT urges all Montgomery County residents to plan now for a safe ride home from their holiday celebrations.
