Summer RISE gave rising Montgomery County Public Schools juniors and seniors an opportunity to explore real-world career-based learning environments during a three-week program that ended July 26. MCDOT hosted several of these students, bringing them into the workplace to learn about the department, its functions and the wide range of career fields available.
RISE Students met with engineers at the Transportation Management Center to learn how traffic signals work and what happens when they don’t. They worked in several offices throughout MCDOT, lending their talents to helping solve current challenges and learning the importance of professional skills.
