Montgomery County Public Libraries Celebrates Classical Music Month with Classical Guitar Program

Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) will celebrate Classical Music Month with a free classical guitar program featuring concert artist and lecturer Dr. Candice Mowbray. “Art of the Classical Guitar,” takes an appreciative look at the history of the classical guitar and shares stories of its great players, composers and music. The program will include discussion, live demonstration and historic and modern recording.

The free event will take place at 1 p.m. on Sept. 28 at the Germantown Library located at 19840 Century Blvd.

“We are very pleased to host this program to delight our residents.” said MCPL Acting Director Anita Vassallo. “Music is an international language that brings people together and helps to communicate with each other; the library, as the community space for sharing and informal learning and education, is the perfect forum for providing this type of event.”

The “Art of the Classical Guitar” program is sponsored by Marlow Guitar International, presenters of the John E. Marlow Guitar Concert Series.
