Montgomery County Public Libraries Offers Free Cartooning, Graphic Novel and Animation Workshops for Children, Tweens and Adults at the New Wheaton Library

Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) will offer several free, five-session workshops on cartooning, graphic novel design and animation at the new Wheaton Library located at 11701 Georgia Ave in Silver Spring.

•             Cartooning (for 50 and older) – Begins at 11 a.m. on Sept. 25.

•             Create a Graphic Novel (Ages 10 and older) – Begins at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 28

•             Animation (Ages 10 and older) – Begins at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 28

Cartoonist, illustrator and animator, Leila Cabib will facilitate the workshops. Participants are expected to attend all classes. Supplies will be provided.

“We are delighted to host these series of workshops at our new Wheaton Library” said MCPL Acting Director Anita Vassallo. “Art brings people together and to see young and older residents have fun sharing their own creations and learning new creative skills is exciting and inspiring.”

The free workshops are funded in part by a Wheaton Cultural Project Grant from the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County.
