Residents Invited to Learn About Red Flags of Abuse; Discussion About Community Response to Violence in the Home

Residents are invited to attend a community panel discussion titled, “Violence in the Home,” on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church in Montgomery Village.  Representatives from Montgomery County’s Family Justice Center; Department of Health and Human Services’ (DHHS) Adult Protective Services and Child Protective Services; Police Department; the Betty Ann Krahnke Center’s domestic violence shelter and the State’s Attorney’s Office will talk about the red flags of abuse, services offered and discuss what community members can do to decrease the occurrence of violence in the home.  The discussion will be moderated by Maryland State Senator Nancy King.

A light lunch will be provided.  The church is located at 20301 Pleasant Ridge Drive in Montgomery Village.  Spanish interpreters will be available.
