For Immediate Release: Thursday, December 5, 2019
The Montgomery County
Department of Transportation will hold a public forum at
Rocky Hill Middle School at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, to provide details, receive comments and answer questions about proposed Ride On bus route changes in the Clarksburg area.
Rocky Hill Middle School is located at
22401 Brick Haven Way in Clarksburg. In the case of inclement weather, the public forum will be postponed and rescheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Prior to the start of the forum, residents will be able to review map displays illustrating the proposed changes.
The proposed changes involve Ride On Routes 75, 79 and 90. The proposed service alterations would redistribute the coverage area by introducing new service to roads where there is a perceived need for service and discontinuing service on roads where rider usage has been low.
Additional information on the proposed changes is available now on the
Ride On website:
Individuals and representatives of organizations who would like to speak at the forum are requested to furnish, in writing or by email, on or before Monday, Dec. 9, their name, home address, telephone number, e-mail address and organization to the Division of Transit Services, Ride On Public Forum, 101 Monroe Street, 5th Floor, Rockville, Maryland 20850. The information can be sent via email to mcdot.rideonpublicforums@montgomerycountymd.gov.
In addition, comments may be written, faxed or e-mailed on the proposed service changes to the Division of Transit Services by Wednesday, Dec. 18. The fax number is 240-777-5801.
Information about the forum is also available by phone at 240-777-5800.
Individuals who have signed up to speak must bring two printed copies of their testimony for the record. Sign language interpreter services will be provided only upon request, with notice requested as far in advance as possible, but not less than three business days prior to the date of the forum. Large print format is available upon request. All comments will be considered before any changes are finalized.
