Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) began installation of a bike lane between Nicholson Lane and Woodglen Drive in Rockville that is expected to take about a week to complete. In 2019, as part of the project, MCDOT resurfaced Executive Boulevard and added pavement markings. Staff are now installing newly completed concrete bike lane curb barriers in the striped buffer areas. These barriers provide better protection for cyclists and are more attractive than flexposts.
