On February 19, MCDOT to Hold Public Hearing on Proposed Farmland Drive Sidewalk

For Immediate Release: Thursday, January 30, 2020

Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) invites the public to provide comments at an upcoming public hearing on a proposed sidewalk for the Old Farm Community, Rockville, located on the west side of Farmland Drive from Old Stage Road to Racehorse Lane. The sidewalk is expected to enhance safety for those with disabilities, pedestrians and bicyclists as they travel to schools and nearby facilities. Public input helps determine whether or not to proceed with constructing all, or a portion, of the sidewalk.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 19, at 7 p.m. in the all-purpose room of Farmland Elementary School, located at 7000 Old Gate Road, Rockville. To reserve a time to testify, contact the Division of Transportation Engineering by email at dte.sidewalk@montgomerycountymd.gov or by phone at 240-777-7271. Interpreter services will be provided upon request with five business days advance notice.  If special services or aids are needed, call 240-777-7271. The Farmland Elementary School is accessible.

For those who cannot attend the meeting, written comments may be submitted by email to dte.sidewalk@montgomerycountymd.gov or by writing to:
