The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) State Highway Administration (SHA) District 3 has announced planned lane closures related to major construction in Montgomery County beginning January 16. Work schedules may be affected by the weather.

MDOT alerts travelers that additional work and lane closure times beyond those listed below may be needed to keep projects on schedule. Equipment used for construction may be disruptive. Real-time traffic information is available at www.chart.maryland.gov or 1-855-466-3511 (using a hands-free device while driving).

Montgomery County Projects

MD 28 (Norbeck Road) from MD 97 (Georgia Avenue) to Bailey’s Lane. Geometric roadway improvement project. Intermittent eastbound and westbound lane closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through late summer 2020. (XX2295376R)

Montgomery County Area Wide Resurfacing

The smaller areawide MDOT SHA District 3 resurfacing projects listed below are planned to occur between now and late summer 2020, weather permitting. Intermittent lane closures and work times can occur weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Additional lane closures and work times may be needed to complete all phases of work. Equipment used for construction may be disruptive.

Montgomery County Deep Inlet Cleaning Project Locations

MDOT SHA District 3 will also be conducting the deep inlet cleaning projects listed below between now and late spring 2020. Intermittent mobile lane closures and work times may occur weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Saturday, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Additional intermittent mobile lane closures and work times may be needed to complete all phases of work. Equipment used for construction may be disruptive.
