For Immediate Release: Wednesday, February 26, 2020
Today, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a public workshop to brief the community on and receive feedback about the Dale Drive Pedestrian Facility Improvement Project in Silver Spring to enhance safety for walkers and bicyclists.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. and will be held in the cafeteria of Sligo Creek Elementary School, located at 500 Schuyler Road in Silver Spring. Members of the project team will present information about the proposed design, collect feedback and answer questions.
The project preliminary design proposes pedestrian facilities improvements, such as concrete sidewalks, shared use paths, accessibility improvements, stormwater management concepts, various traffic safety measures and intersection improvements for the one mile section of Dale Drive between Georgia Avenue (MD 97) and Colesville Road (US29).
