Council President Katz to host second business and economic development briefing on Zoom on Friday, May 8 at 12:30 p.m.

ROCKVILLE, Md., May 5, 2020—On Friday, May 8 at 12:30 p.m., Montgomery County Council President Sidney Katz will host the second in an ongoing series of online business briefings for County residents, as the County navigates the economic difficulties created by the global Covid-19 pandemic. The briefing will take place on the online video communications platform Zoom.

“The Council and the County government are working hard during this difficult time to support local businesses,” said Council President Katz. “I’m a proud former small business owner. I know that local businesses are the backbone of Montgomery County’s economy.”

Council President Katz will be joined by Benjamin Wu, president and CEO of the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation, and Bart Yablonsky, owner of Dawson’s Market in Rockville. Council President Katz will share information about the County’s efforts to support local businesses, and participants will discuss what local businesses are doing to help the County weather the storm of the Covid-19 public health crisis and what the needs of the local business community will be going forward.

Residents will also have the opportunity to submit questions in the Zoom chat during the question and answer portion of the briefing. Residents must register ahead of time by emailing Councilmember.Katz@MontgomeryCountyMD.Gov to participate. Residents will receive the Zoom call information by email when they register.
