Montgomery County Seeks More Local Small Businesses for $7.1 Million IT Consulting Contract

Montgomery County’s Department of Technology Services (DTS) and its Office of Procurement have issued the much-anticipated Request for Proposal (RFP) for IT consulting and technical services under its Local Small Business Reserve Program. The solicitation will enable County using departments to procure IT consulting and technical services in a timely and economical manner.

The contract is entirely for local small businesses, with an estimated annual value of $7.1 million. It has an initial term for two years plus three optional one-year terms.

“I consulted with local small businesses and developed a solicitation series in partnership with the Department of Technology Services Chief Information Officer, Gail Roper,” said Office of Procurement Director Ash Shetty. “This new contract provides more opportunities to local small businesses. The current contract has seven awardees and this new contract will increase to 12 awardees.”

DTS Chief Information Officer Roper said: “We expect to have great success with this process as we move forward engaging with the small business community.” There will be an optional pre-submission conference at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 18, via Microsoft Teams Live. The conference ID is 580 675 848# Optional pre-submission meeting attendees should pre-register by 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 14 by sending an email to the technical contact, Nola Song, at nola.song@montgomerycountymd.gov. A copy should be sent to sarah.giambra@montgomerycountymd.gov. The information in the email should include name, company name, email address and phone number. The subject line of the email should be "RFP 1110880 Optional Pre-Submission Registration."
