Montgomery County Public Libraries Begins Contact-free Holds Pickup Service on Monday, July 6

For Immediate Release: Thursday, July 2, 2020

Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) will begin its contact-free holds pickup service, Holds to Go, on Monday, July 6.  Holds to Go will be offered at all MCPL branches except Noyes and Long Branch libraries.

Customers can reserve items online or over the telephone.  Requests are limited to 100 items per customer. When the items are available, customers are notified by email, text, or phone, based on their account preference.  Customers will then schedule an appointment by telephone or online to pick up their materials.  At their scheduled appointment times, customers pick up their bagged materials from tables inside the branch vestibules or just outside the front doors.

“We’re so excited our customers can once again get the physical books they want,” said MCPL Director Anita Vassallo. “The process is easy while being as safe as possible for our customers and staff.”

An active Montgomery County Library card is needed to use the Holds to Go service.  A library card can be obtained online on MCPL’s website.

For more information, contact your local branch.
