MCDOT’s Strategic Innovation Senior Engineer, Hannah Henn Recognized for Outstanding Service

For Immediate Release: Thursday, July 23, 2020

Every week, Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and Chief Administrative Officer Andrew Kleine recognize County employees who are “High Risers” -- those who have risen to the challenge of the COVID-19 health crisis. The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is very proud that Strategic Innovation Senior Engineer, Hannah Henn, has been honored.

Experienced in public transportation planning, and as a policy practitioner, she is passionate about improving mobility options and the transit user experience. She focuses her efforts on the expansion and implementation of new and innovative services, sustainable solutions, accessibility, fare and mode integration and safety initiatives, while ensuring both strong internal and external communications.

Since the onset of the County’s COVID-19 emergency response, Hannah has taken on an additional job to serve as Acting Strategic Communications Manager, effectively managing and coordinating all communications for MCDOT. Her hard work and commitment during the COVID-19 crisis response has been critical to providing our community with exceptional service.

Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, Hannah has enthusiastically overseen media and community relations through both traditional and social media and the coordination of translations to ensure our diverse community receives timely information. She has supported the County’s Public Information Office in communicating transportation news, developing marketing and outreach plans and anticipating and satisfying customers’ transportation needs. Hannah has spearheaded the formulation and implementation of MCDOT's ‘Shared Streets’ initiatives to provide additional space for safer walking, biking, playing and dining in support of recovery efforts.

“Hannah richly deserves recognition as a High Riser,“ said MCDOT Director Chris Conklin. “She has gone above and beyond to provide the highest quality of dedicated service to Montgomery County residents. Her creativity and flexibility have made a real difference to the County’s recovery efforts.”
