For Immediate Release: Friday, August 21, 2020
Montgomery County drivers traveling in Downtown Bethesda during daytime work hours from Monday, Aug. 24, through Friday, Aug. 28, will see significant traffic disruption due to construction activities around 7272 Wisconsin Ave. Between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on those days, Wisconsin Avenue (MD 355) southbound traffic will be reduced to a single travel lane between Elm Street and Bethesda Avenue. A flagging operation and signage will direct pedestrians and motorists through the work zone.
During the week, outside of the daytime construction hours, the west sidewalk and right lane of southbound Wisconsin Avenue between Elm Street and Bethesda Avenue will remain closed at all times as construction access and staging continues.
Carr Properties has worked closely with the Maryland State Highway Administration to develop detailed traffic and pedestrian control plans that will be implemented during construction. For more information, visit Maryland Department of Transportation’s
Traffic Conditions and Road Closures webpage.
