Visit Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) Commuter Services staff on Wednesday, September 22, between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. at multiple locations. Staff will greet riders at the locations listed below and and pass out free hand sanitizer, face coverings and transit information. Check in with the MCDOT team for a chance to win a $200 SmarTrip Card, Capital Bikeshare annual membership, or other gift card at:
Car Free Day is a worldwide event that encourages traveling in ways that are more environmentally friendly than driving alone, such as walking or riding a train, bus, scooter, bicycle, carpool, vanpool or subway. For those that have the ability to work from home, telework also counts toward reducing auto use.. Using more sustainable ways to get around helps reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions and traffic congestion.
