Montgomery County Recreation Moving to New Administrative Headquarters

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, October 14, 2020

Montgomery County Recreation’s Administrative Headquarters are moving to the new Wheaton Office Building located at 2425 Reedie Drive in Wheaton as part of the County’s Wheaton Revitalization Project.

The new, 308,000 square foot office building, will be home to the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission and five additional county agencies. The 14-story building includes ground-floor retail and plaza spaces, a new town square adjacent to the building that will host public events and a four-level below-grade public parking structure.

“We are thrilled to be a part of the Wheaton Revitalization Project and look forward to making downtown Wheaton our new home,” said Montgomery County Recreation Director Robin Riley.

A new customer service center will be available on the second floor of the new facility. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it will remain closed to walk-in customers until further notice. The department, however, remains open electronically. During the move, Montgomery County Recreation’s customer service center will remain fully staffed in order to minimize any disruption to services. Customer needing assistance are encouraged to contact customer service via email at Recreation.CustomerService@MontgomeryCountyMD.gov or by calling 240-777-6840.

Montgomery County Recreation is open for business and continues to provide safe, fun and affordable recreation opportunities during the COVID-19 pandemic. The department is currently offering a variety outdoor and virtual classes for all ages. Aquatic facilities are also open.
