Montgomery County Provides Clarification on Capacity for Childcare Facilities Outlined in Executive Order 122-20 Regarding COVID-19 Local Order

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, November 3, 2020

The Montgomery County Council on Thursday, Nov. 5, will address Executive Order 122-20 regarding the COVID-19 Local Order that provides updated guidelines in a number of areas. One key area that the updated order from County Executive Marc Elrich addresses is the capacity limit for childcare facilities.

The updated Executive Order incorporates direction previously given to childcare providers in October, stating that they must continue to follow the County Phase 2 guidelines for capacity limits. Those limits are outlined in the Maryland Department of Education’s June 10, 2020 Child Care Operating Procedures.
