Montgomery County Procurement Launches New Website and Prepares to Host Virtual Fair

For Immediate Release: Thursday, December 3, 2020

This week, the Montgomery County Office of Procurement, in partnership with the Department of Technology Services, unveiled its new web portal. The redesign features an enhanced and responsive mobile-friendly platform to improve the user’s experience. The website is structured to highlight information relative to the vendor community, including access to contracting information and status updates from the award-winning Solicitation Tracker.

A new, optimized search engine is available to return content specific to procurement information and activities. Procurement videos are prominently displayed on the homepage with a one-minute “How to do Business with the County” video coming soon. New content has been added to centralize resources for vendors interested in doing business with the County. Intuitive navigation is procurement-focused to provide quick access to purchasing information.

“This new website is much more user centric in design - we’ve thought about the vendor experience and added features like the vendor resources tab, providing a more intuitive portal at a time when businesses are looking for business opportunities,” said Procurement Director Ash Shetty. “We have reimagined our website during a time when business opportunities are scarce and connecting remotely to vendors is more important than ever.”

The Office of Procurement is continuing outreach to the business community by hosting a virtual Procurement Fair on Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. County Executive Marc Elrich and Chief Equity Officer Tiffany Ward will provide welcoming remarks. This event was originally scheduled in April but was cancelled due to COVID-19. As part of the continued economic recovery in Montgomery County, the virtual event will provide local businesses with relevant, timely opportunities. The Office of Procurement and more than 10 County departments will discuss projected solicitations and interact with the vendor community.
