Council President Hucker and Vice President Albornoz hold media availability today at 1 p.m. to discuss COVID-19 vaccination efforts, Gov. Hogan's new economic relief package and ongoing efforts to rename streets and public places

ROCKVILLE, Md., Jan. 11, 2021—Council President Tom Hucker and Vice President Gabe Albornoz will hold a media briefing on Monday, Jan. 11 at 1 p.m. They will be joined by Montgomery County Deputy Health Officer James Bridgers to discuss the latest information on COVID-19 vaccination efforts. Council President Hucker and Vice President Albornoz will respond to Gov. Hogan's COVID-19 economic relief announcement and discuss the advocacy efforts of Maryland United for COVID Relief Now which includes council presidents and community leaders from across the state.


The Council leaders also will provide information about ongoing efforts with the Montgomery County Planning Board to rename streets and public places that currently have names associated with the Confederacy and the Council’s upcoming review of the Shady Grove Minor Master Plan.


The media availability will be held via Zoom and is for credentialed members of the media only.
