Local elected officials, community leaders, business owners come together in virtual rally pushing for Maryland Stimulus
Annapolis, MD via Zoom—On Sunday, Jan. 10, at 12 p.m., Maryland elected and community leaders from the Maryland United for COVID Relief NOW Coalition will hold a virtual rally calling on Gov. Hogan to release additional funds for financial relief for Maryland’s struggling families and small businesses.
The virtual rally will feature remarks from elected officials, faith leaders, community organizations and other speakers whose lives and livelihoods have been impacted by the COVID pandemic.
Speakers include:
With state and local aid blocked by Congress, many services that Maryland families and businesses rely on are threatened. More small businesses are in danger of closing; renters are facing eviction and homelessness; and families are going hungry.
The Maryland United for COVID Relief Coalition is calling on Governor Hogan to provide a direct $2,000 stimulus for Maryland’s most vulnerable residents and additional aid to small businesses.
Presenters will underscore the severity of the economic crisis impacting Marylanders and small businesses and the need for Maryland to use its Rainy Day Fund to supplement the most recent stimulus package passed by Congress.
