MCDOT to Hold Jan. 13 Virtual Public Hearing on Proposed Kenhowe Drive and Pyle Road Sidewalk Construction Project in Bethesda

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, January 12, 2021

On Wednesday, January 13 starting at 7 p.m., the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a virtual public hearing about the following proposed construction of sidewalks in Bethesda:

  • the west side of Kenhowe Dr from the existing sidewalk at 6422 Kenhowe Dr to 6504 Kenhowe Dr;
  • the east side of Kenhowe Dr from the existing sidewalk at 6415 Kenhowe Dr to 6509 Kenhowe Dr;
  • both sides of Pyle Road from Kenhowe Dr to the entrance of the Merrimack Pool.

The proposed sidewalks will enhance safety for those with disabilities, pedestrians and bicyclists as they travel to schools and nearby facilities.  Public input will influence whether MCDOT constructs all or a portion of the sidewalks.

The hearing will be broadcast live online at montgomerycounty.adobeconnect.com/kenhowedrsidewalks. To attend the hearing or to testify, click on the above link and download Adobe Connect when prompted.  Adobe Connect uses a telephonic bridge to eliminate echo and feedback during the hearing.  To connect:

  • Mute your computer speakers;
  • From a landline or cellular telephone, dial 1-800-832-0736;
  • When prompted to enter the “Meeting Room,” enter 9081014 and press # to establish a connection.

To reduce the bandwidth for the hearing, do not enable video.

Prior to the virtual meeting, the public is encouraged to review the below project documents. Written comments or questions may be submitted to MCDOT’s Annual Sidewalk Program by email to dte.sidewalk@montgomerycountymd.gov or lori.main@montgomerycountymd.gov. Written testimony carries the same weight as oral testimony.
