For Immediate Release: Sunday, January 31, 2021
Montgomery County-run COVID-19 vaccination clinics scheduled for Monday, Feb. 1 are cancelled due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions. Residents with second-dose vaccinations have been notified by email to reschedule their appointments for Tuesday. In anticipation of the inclement weather, the County did not schedule first-dose appointments for Monday. The priority group 1B being vaccinated are residents 75 years and older.
Second dose appointments will be prioritized because there is a recommended timeframe when one should receive their second dose. The Moderna vaccine, which the County has been using, recommends the second dose be given as close to 28 days after the first dose.
County-run COVID-19 testing clinics scheduled for Monday at the Germantown Community Recreation Center on Kingsview Road and the Silver Spring Civic Building are cancelled, and people with appointments have been notified to reschedule at their convenience. More information on COVID-19 testing clinics and instructions on making an appointment for testing is at www.MoCoCOVIDtesting.org.
More information on vaccinations is on the County’s vaccine website. Preregistration is now open for all residents in Priority Group 1B and 1C. A detailed description of the priority groups is also on the vaccine website. The County is currently vaccinating residents in Priority Group 1B (residents 75 and older). All invitations to make an appointment at County vaccination will come directly from [email protected] or by phone.
Residents can also sign up for weekly email or text updates about the vaccination program on the County’s website.
