MCDOT Invites Public to April 19 Virtual Public Hearing on Charred Oak Community Petition for Inclusion into the Leaf Vacuum Program in North Potomac

For Immediate Release: Thursday, April 8, 2021

On Monday, April 19 starting at 2 p.m., the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a virtual public hearing regarding a petition for inclusion into the Leaf Vacuum program that was submitted by Charred Oak Community in North Potomac.

The hearing allows Charred Oak Community residents an opportunity to provide feedback to be included in the MCDOT  Leaf Vacuum program. The annual leaf vacuuming starts in November in a collection district that is bounded by I-495; I-270; the Rockville City limits; Norbeck, Bel Pre and Bonifant roads; Northwest Branch Park; and the District of Columbia and Prince George’s County lines.

The hearing will be broadcast online at montgomerycountymd.adobeconnect.com/charredoakleafcollection.

To attend or to testify, click on the above link and download Adobe Connect when prompted. Adobe Connect uses a telephonic bridge to eliminate echo and feedback during the hearing. To connect:

  • Mute your computer speakers
  • From a landline or cellular telephone, dial 1-800-832-0736
  • When prompted to enter the “Meeting Room,” enter 9081014 and press # to establish a connection
  • To reduce the bandwidth for the hearing, do not enable the video

The files and displays will be available for download during the hearing. Written comments, requests or questions may be submitted to Steve Suprata by email at steven.suprata@montgomerycountymd.gov. Both written and oral testimony carry the same weight.

Interpreter services will be provided upon request with five (5) business days advance notice.

Audio and video of the hearing will be recorded and available for viewing on the Annual Leaf Collection webpage at montgomerycountymd.gov/leafing.
