The Division of Transit Services has scheduled a public forum to solicit public comment on a series of service cuts being proposed to deal with a projected budget shortfall due to falling revenues to the County. The forum will be held on Monday, February 11, 2008 starting at 6:30 p.m. and ending after the last speaker. It will be held at the Council Office Building, Third Floor Hearing Room, located at 100 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, Maryland.
In case of inclement weather, the forum will be rescheduled to February 13, 2008.
Montgomery County is forced to make difficult budget decisions to close a $400 million budget gap and Ride On service cuts are a possibility. These services are being proposed for change or discontinuation because of their weak performance (low ridership).

Weekdays Saturdays Sunday
Route 7 Route 30 Route 98
Route 37 Route 36
Route 75 Route 90
Route 124
Route 127
Route Merger (7 Days per Week):
Route 34 (south end) with Route 42 (north end). Resulting route to be called Route 34.
Individuals and representatives of organizations who would like to speak at the public forum are requested to furnish in writing, on or before February 4, 2008, their name, home address, telephone number, e-mail address and organization to Carolyn G. Biggins, Chief, Division of Transit Services, 101 Monroe Street, 5th Floor, Rockville, Maryland 20850. Individuals who have signed up to speak must bring two (2) printed copies of their testimony for the record. Sign language interpreter services will be provided only upon request with notice as far in advance as possible but not less than 3 business days prior to the date of the forum. Large print format is available upon request. All comments will be considered before any changes are finalized.
