MCDOT Invites Public to June 10 Virtual Meeting About Forest Glen Road Sidewalk Project in Silver Spring

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, June 8, 2021

On Thursday, June 10 starting at 6:30 p.m., the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a virtual public meeting to discuss the six-foot-wide sidewalk along the north side of Forest Glen Road between Woodland Drive and Sligo Creek Trail in Silver Spring.

At the virtual meeting, MCDOT will present the project scope, the conceptual design, project costs and schedules, and obtain public feedback. The completed project will enhance safety for pedestrians, bicyclists and people with disabilities, as they travel to schools and nearby facilities. Public input is encouraged and will influence future versions of the engineered design.

Online registration is required and allows the event host to plan for the number of participants and to ensure the virtual platform is equipped to accommodate the turnout. The registration process will also provide participant contact information in case MCDOT needs to contact registrants before the virtual meeting.

Prior to the virtual meeting, the public is encouraged to review the below project documents:

Written comments or questions may be submitted to the Project Manager, Rebecca Park by email to or by an online comment form. All comments are reviewed equally.
