Council President Hucker and Vice President Albornoz to Hold Media Availability Today at 11 a.m. to Discuss the Silver Spring Business Improvement District, Council Matters and Provide a Public Health Update

Rockville, Md., Aug. 16, 2021—Council President Tom Hucker and Council Vice President Gabe Albornoz will hold a media availability at 11 a.m. to discuss the Silver Spring Business Improvement District and provide updates on the Council President’s requests to reopen the Gwendolyn Coffield and Long Branch Community Recreation Centers and to transfer the investigation of the officer-involved shooting of Mr. Ryan Leroux to the Office of the Attorney General.

The duo will also reflect on the five year anniversary of the Flower Branch Apartments explosion in Silver Spring, discuss the State’s eviction moratorium grace period and other Council related matters.

Montgomery County Health and Human Services Deputy Health Officer Dr. James Bridgers will join the media availability to provide a public health update.

The media availability will be held via Zoom and is for credentialed members of the media.
