The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is sponsoring six learning opportunities for residents to take an Adult Learn to Ride bike class led by the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA).
These classes are led by certified WABA instructors and designed for adults age 18 or older who have never ridden a bike before, have tried to learn but have been unsuccessful or who have not ridden for some time. Students will learn the basics of balancing, gliding, pedaling, and stopping using techniques to ride comfortably and confidently.
The cost is $10 for Montgomery County residents, and there is no fee for WABA and Capital Bikeshare for All members.

The Learn to Ride bike classes offer residents an affordable way to include biking as another form of transportation. It’s also a great way to prepare for and participate in the MCDOT Car Free Day and Bike Swag Bag contest.
*These locations will also offer free e-scooter safety training from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. for adults 18 and older who have a valid driver’s license. No registration is required for e-scooter training and walk-ups are welcome.
