ROCKVILLE, Md., Sept. 16, 2021 — The featured guests on this week’s En Sintonía con el Concejo del Condado de Montgomery (In Tune with the Montgomery County Council) will include Alberto Arevalo, volunteer coordinator for Brookside Gardens; Febe Huezo, spokesperson for Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL); Alex Taylor, director for the Community Recreation Center at  Bauer Drive; and Mayra Cruz-Solís, civic engagement specialist and Latino outreach liaison for the Montgomery County Council. In the first segment of the show, the guests will discuss some of the programs, events and resources available to residents of all ages throughout the County's parks, recreation centers and libraries. This will be followed by a discussion on commemorative events for National Hispanic Heritage Month, including information about the County Council’s planned celebration led by Councilmember Nancy Navarro. This will include an explanation of the Latino Civic Project initiative and its importance in our community. The program will also discuss an upcoming event in which MCPL teamed up with the Board of Elections to celebrate National Voter Registration Day on September 28.

The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express their views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station.

Andrea Sarralde and Liliana Henao are the hosts of this week’s show and will continue to co-host the shows this fall.

Each week, the show features guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
