On Wednesday, Sept. 29 starting at 7 p.m., the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a virtual public hearing to discuss the proposed construction of a sidewalk on the south side of Decatur Avenue between 3900 Decatur Avenue and Connecticut Avenue in Kensington.
At the virtual meeting, MCDOT will present the project scope, the conceptual design, project costs, schedules and obtain public feedback. The completed project will enhance safety for pedestrians, bicyclists and people with disabilities as they travel to schools and nearby facilities. Public input is encouraged and will influence whether MCDOT constructs any, all or a portion of the sidewalk.
The hearing will be broadcast live online at montgomerycounty.adobeconnect.com/decatursidewalk.

Written testimony or questions may be submitted to MCDOT’s Annual Sidewalk Program by email to dte.sidewalk@montgomerycountymd.gov or lori.main@montgomerycountymd.gov. Written testimony carries the same weight as oral testimony.
Interpreter services will be provided upon request with five business days advance notice.
