The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection and the Montgomery County Committee of USGBC National Capital Region are inviting proposals for educational presentations at the 2022 Montgomery County Energy Summit. Proposals are due Wednesday, December 1 by 5 p.m. The summit will take place Tuesday, April 5, and Wednesday, April 6.

The 2022 Energy Summit will focus on Innovation in three education tracks of the Summit: Technology, Policy and Practices and Finance.

Important upcoming dates regarding presentation proposals:

  • Submission deadline: Wednesday, Dec. 1. 5 p.m. APPLY HERE
  • Announcement of selected sessions: By Jan. 7.
  • Decision date for hybrid or all-virtual summit: Expected in February.

Participants of the 2022 Summit will explore strategies, technologies and case studies focused on spurring cutting-edge, sustainable solutions for the commercial, multifamily and residential built environments.

The three education tracks will feature innovative approaches to technology implementation, policy and program design and creativity in financing projects. All education sessions will be approved for continuing education credits for professional credential maintenance.

The summit offers cutting-edge education focused on the latest trends in commercial energy efficiency, renewable energy and related issues in Montgomery County and will include breakout education sessions and keynote speakers.

The target audience includes building owners, property managers, developers, energy contractors and other sustainability professionals working in Montgomery County and the larger DC-Maryland-Virginia area. The event traditionally attracts more than 300 attendees, speakers and exhibitors.

The organizers hope to hold the in-person portion of a hybrid event at the Silver Spring Civic Building, which is located at 1 Veterans Place. The event is expected to include in-person education sessions streamed for online audiences. Due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 health crisis, the event organizers may shift to an all-virtual event for the safety of our attendees.

The agenda for the 2022 Energy Summit will be available in late January. Registration will open in February. More information about the summit and the Call for Proposals can be found at MCEnergySummit.org.
