Virtual Hearing on the Dale Drive Shared Use Path Construction and Safety Improvements in Silver Spring to be Held on Wednesday, Nov. 17

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, November 3, 2021

On Wednesday, Nov. 17 starting at 7 p.m., the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a virtual public hearing about proposed construction of the Dale Drive Shared Use Path and safety improvements in Silver Spring. The public will have an opportunity to provide written and oral testimony.

The proposed shared use path will be located on the:

  • the North side of Dale Drive from Georgia Avenue to Colesville Road;
  • the South side of Dale Drive from Columbia Boulevard to Woodland Drive.

The proposed shared use path will enhance safety for pedestrians and bicyclists accessing bus stops and nearby destinations.  In addition, other safety improvements, such as intersection improvements at Columbia Boulevard and Grace Church Road, traffic calming features and drainage improvements will also be a part of this project. Public input will influence the final design of this project.  

Online registration is required to attend. Completion of this registration form will include an electronic invitation to participate in this hearing. Testimony and information provided will become a matter of public record.

The public is encouraged to review the project files posted on the project website prior to attending the hearing.

Written testimony or questions may be submitted to the Project Manager, Angel Cheng through this online comment form or by emailing angel.cheng@montgomerycountymd.gov.  Written testimony carries the same weight as oral testimony.  

Interpreter services will be provided upon request with five business days advance notice by contacting Angel Cheng.
