Montgomery County Executive Elrich to Hold the County’s First All-Spanish-Language FY23 Budget Forum on Tuesday, Nov. 9, in Wheaton

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will host a Fiscal Year 2023 Operating Budget Forum in Spanish language, the first of its kind, to seek input and hear priorities from the county’s Latino residents on Tuesday, Nov. 9 from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Mid-County Regional Services Center, Park and Planning Board Room, 2425 Reedie Drive in Wheaton.

The County is in the early stages of formulating the FY23 operating budget. County Executive Elrich is required to submit a recommended budget to the County Council by March 15. The Council will then have two months to study the budget. It must adopt a final budget by late May. The FY23 operating budget will go into effect on July 1.

“We had five successful, engaging, and helpful budget forums in with each of our regional office, but it was very important to me that we also conduct a budget forum in Spanish for those county residents with limited English language proficiency,” said County Executive Marc Elrich. “I look forward to hearing from our Latino residents, businesses, and families about their concerns and suggestions for investments. We are committed as a County to govern and budget through an equity lens – this forum is an important part of that process.”

The forum will be televised live on the County cable station County Cable Montgomery, which can be seen on Comcast (Channel 6 and High-Definition Channel 996), RCN (Channel 6 and HD 1056) and Verizon (Channel 30). The forum also will be available on cable channels Takoma Park City TV (Channel 13), Montgomery Municipal (Channel 16, 997 Comcast), Corona Montgomery (Channel 10), Condado TV (Comcast channel 33, RCN channel 88, Verizon channel 35), Rockville 11, Montgomery Community Media (Channel 21) and the Montgomery College (Channel 10).
